Dr. John Heinrich practices general orthopedics with an emphasis on sports medicine and arthroscopic procedures. His particular interests include arthroscopic treatment of injuries of the shoulder and knee.
After graduating from Southern Methodist University, Dr. Heinrich attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine where he was awarded the Raymond Nicholson Scholarship for academic excellence. His post-graduate training includes a Surgical Internship and an Orthopedic Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Heinrich completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Methodist Sports Medicine/Indiana University in Indianapolis. During his fellowship, he was team physician for Indiana State University and a member of the Indianapolis Colts medical staff. In addition, he also served as a consultant for the NFL combine for the 2009 NFL draft. His research interests include cartilage injuries of the knee and imaging modalities for evaluating ligamentous injuries of the wrist.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopic Association of North America.
